The Maintenance Trades Helper is our entry-level position at Hill Air Force Base. You will be trained in a group environment, under a supervisor, to perform general maintenance and labor duties, operate equipment, and assist co-workers to complete facility and equipment projects. Keep workers supplied with materials and tools Use chemicals and solvents to clean working area(s), machines, and equipment. Assist workers by holding materials or tools. Use industrial cleaning equipment to clean work bays and aisle ways. Operate machinery such as forklifts. Perform unskilled trade work as directed. Operate equipment such as scissor lifts for operations. Other Responsibilities Attend regular safety meetings and trainings to maintain a safe working environment for all customers and employees. Essential Abilities Meet physical demands which includes frequent lifting/carrying 50+ pounds. Computer skills to include internet navigation. Able to effectively communicate with other Beacon employees and customers. Qualifications: Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to obtain and maintain access to a military installation through a background check. Valid State Driver's License. Beneficial Experience working in a military setting. Current forklift certification. Experience performing trade work such as painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Experience using industrial cleaning equipment such as ride-on floor cleaners.
