What Are We Looking For: Conhagen is searching for a proficient intermediate mechanic with two years of experience, exceptional mechanical aptitude, and a zeal for their craft, who enjoys a laid-back and face-to-face work atmosphere. Paid time off (Sick & Vacation Time) Dental Insurance/Vision Insurance /Health Insurance Long-Term Disability Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Involuntary & Voluntary Life Insurance Typical Shift at the Shop: Whenever machinery from customers arrives for repairs or servicing, Shop Mechanics use overhead cranes to move the components to the disassembly zone. Mechanics take apart and clean the components and accurately label all equipment parts. Operate the cranes to move them to the production zone to prepare parts for non-destructive testing, carry out all photo and visual inspections, and record any repairs and components required. Look over and understand sketches, printed directions, and technical aids. Once the equipment is ready to be assembled, prepare components and record all clearances of rotating parts. Please finish all final photo reviews of the repair process and submit them as soon as possible. Mechanics perform shop maintenance and sanitization duties regularly. Experienced mechanics will help train apprentice mechanics. Take part in the required monthly safety meetings. Report any broken machinery or equipment to the Safety Manager (Coordinator). Requirements: Adequate understanding of the English language (spoken & written.) Must have the authorization to work in the U.S. and be able to provide proof of entitlement. All candidates receiving an employment offer must pass a standard drug and background screening before employment begins. Two years of experience inspecting and repairing rotating machinery malfunctions in a parallel field. Possess the capacity to endure lengthy spans of standing. Possesses the strength to tug, heave, and transport up to 50 lbs. Capability to crouch, kneel, flex, and traverse around equipment. Possess sufficient vision: both near and distant, and visual depth perception. Proficient hand-eye coordination. The capacity to traverse a mechanic shop environment with/without accommodation. Attendance and punctuality. Competency to fulfill duties with little help and self-direction. Fundamental mechanic skills and comprehension of machinery are essential- precise measuring tools such as indicators, verniers, micrometers, calipers, internal diameters, and gauges- to +/-.0001. Can employ hydraulic equipment and tools, such as torque wrenches, pullers, hand presses, power tools, and torches. Work Conditions: Predominantly in a mechanic shop environment A lively atmosphere in which product cycles are subject to fluctuations. Perform work near machinery with a moderate level of noise. Donning specified safety P.P.E. (eyeglasses & ear protection) is a must. Working with ladders is a potential part of the job. Alfred Conhagen may request an extension of hours to meet customer requirements. Overtime Opportunities. Interact with fellow personnel, directors, and tradespeople daily. Steel-toe footwear is mandatory.
