$3,000 Sign-on Bonus! *Applicants who apply through third-party sites (Indeed, Monster, etc.) will receive an email from ApplicantPro to complete their application.* The Bilingual Emergency Relief & Support Supervisor leads a team to work with migrants from all over the world, but primarily Latin America, to assist them with their basic needs. This position has a hybrid work environment, offering a nice mix of in-person and virtual work. This position provides humanitarian assistance to asylum seekers, working collaboratively with the State and local government and other community partner agencies to identify and alleviate service gaps and support community efforts to assist individuals arriving to the local community. This position coordinates capacity building, support services, technical assistance, case management, and community and volunteer engagement to assist in meeting the needs of asylum seekers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for identifying service gaps in the community and designing and building programs and services focused on sustainable solutions. Oversees case management services for long-term asylum seeker residents, serving as an advocate and resource for clients and providing equal treatment to all client groups in accordance with the agency's commitment to the dignity of all persons. Assists partner agencies with obtaining, improving, and retaining the skills, knowledge, tools, and equipment to further their programs. Recruits, screens, trains, and recognizes volunteers and interns in coordination with community providers to support asylum seeker services. Leads funder reporting. Performs outreach and presents to congregations, businesses, organizations and the broader community to provide education about asylum seeker support and to promote, support, and recruit volunteers. Develops training materials and resources for community organizations. Supports the program in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. Performs outreach to connect individuals granted asylum with programs for which they are eligible. Ensures that program services are provided in accord with quality assurance standards of the agency, state, accrediting organizations, and HIPAA. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Cross cultural sensitivity and knowledge with the ability and desire to work with people of other cultures. Full fluency in Spanish and English required. Broad knowledge of practices, principles, and methods employed in the resettlement of refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers including a working knowledge and understanding of US Immigration laws and regulations. Working knowledge and understanding of mainstream social service providers and other applicable community resources. High comfort level with public speaking and teaching/training environments. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret program information needed to ensure compliance with program requirements, monitor program outcomes and complete requisite statistical reporting. Skills in problem solving, negotiations, decision making and mediating conflict. Ability to self-start and work well in a team setting. Proven team-builder. Computer skills in Word, Excel, and the use of email and other applications. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000. Demonstrates commitment to the mission, values and vision of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or four (4) or more years related experience and/or training. At least two (2) years experience working with a social service agency or providing referrals to social services agencies. At least two (2) years experience working with programmatic development/implementation, including work with community partners as an agency representative to establish MOUs, build capacity, and provide collaborative services. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has supervisory responsibilities for up to five (5) staff and large groups of volunteers and interns. LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in Spanish and English.
