Tissue Recovery Technician (Per-Diem) DonorConnect is a federally designated non-profit procurement organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues for transplantation. Our employees help save and improve lives!We offer an attractive salary package designed to attract and retain individuals willing to accept the challenges and rewards associated with organ/tissue donation.DonorConnect is currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Tissue Recovery Technician (per-diem) with a strong medical back ground to provide assistance to full-time Tissue Recovery Coordinators on a case-by-case basis. As donor recoveries occur on an unscheduled, highly irregular basis, the need for and utilization of employees in these positions is extremely variable.Under the supervision of the Manager of Tissue Recovery:• Safely and responsibly assists in the recovery of human bone, skin and CV tissues for transplant and/or research• Assembles supplies• Ensures recovery practices are employed and policies, procedures, and protocols are adhered to• Promotes compliance standards as required by federal, processer, and industry regulations• Maintains a positive and professional relationship with medical examiner staff• Follow-up with quality improvement functions, as assigned• Extensive travel and communication of availability to work are required • Basic knowledge of ethical and legal requirements and standards related to the privacy of protected health informationQualifications: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screenEducation:• High school diploma required• Medical background - RN, LPN, M.A., O.R. tech, mortician, Tissue Bank Specialist preferredRequired Experience:• A minimum of six months of related medical experience (1-2 years preferred)• Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields.
