ANNOUNCEMENT OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Utility Worker - Wastewater Collections Public Works Department Full Time Temporary Hiring Range : $19.28 to $24.10 (Plus benefits) Pay Grade: 106 Full Pay Range: $19.28 to $28.92 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) Deadline to Apply: Open until filled Position Summary: The City of Prescott Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and collaborative professional for the City's Wastewater Collections team, for a temporary assignment in the position of Utility Worker. Under general supervision of the Wastewater Collection Supervisor(s), the ideal candidate will join a team of professionals performing Wastewater Collection daily operations & maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will possess excellent physical and technical skills to support team goals and objectives Essential Duties: Inspect, maintain and repair the sanitary sewer collection system to ensure safe and efficient operation; inspect sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations Operate a variety of complex sewer line cleaning equipment, including hydro-cleaners and other related equipment to remove debris from sewer lines and wet wells Utilize hand tools, jack hammers, whackers, digging bars, shovels and other related tools or equipment as required Inspect sewer line cleaning equipment, power tools, hand tools, vehicles, and other large equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation Perform confined space entries Provide quality customer service to address citizen complaints or problems, provide requested information, and/or take the appropriate measure to ensure an expedient resolution of citizen satisfaction Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; assume responsibility for other duties as required or assigned Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and experience comparable to one-year full time journey level construction, maintenance, or equipment operation. Must possess a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License. Should this position become permanent, must possess a valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or must obtain within six (6) months of hire, and must possess an Arizona Grade I Wastewater Collection System Operator certification or obtain within one (1) year of hire Employee Core Beliefs City of Prescott employees should seek to uphold the City's core beliefs throughout their day-to-day business and with every customer they come in contact with, both internal and external.
