YOUR ROLE AS A JOB PREP AND PLACEMENT COORDINATOR As a Job Prep and Placement Coordinator with our nonprofit, you have the exciting task of connecting job seekers with job opportunities, as well as preparing them for employment. You work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, assisting them in identifying their unique strengths and talents, and guiding them toward fulfilling careers in various industries. Additionally, you have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple departments within our organization, from case managers to employers, all while using creative methods to match job seekers with their dream job. Your key responsibilities include identifying and preparing clients for job vacancies, ensuring that job orders are filled efficiently, and providing one-on-one coaching to clients in their job search. You mitigate issues that arise between employers and newly hired clients. You follow up with both VRS participants and employers within one day of referring them to an interview. You also design and create recruitment strategies, as well as announce job leads weekly in workshops. Collaboration is a key component of this role, as you work closely with work-readiness instructors to ensure consumers are prepared for interviews. This social services role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of the clients that you serve! WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, education, or a related field Minimum of two years of relevant experience in counseling, coaching, staffing, human resources, or workforce development Experience working with at-risk clients with barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
