Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a Lead Dock Worker to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio.In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of the dock area. You will manage storage and rotation of donations and will help fill donation orders from our retail stores. Essential Functions: Work collaboratively with truck drivers in transporting and handling materials, merchandise or equipment. Manually load and unload material from trailers and sort in prescribed manner. Arrange articles to form a compact load, to secure goods and prevent breakage. Verify all outgoing ADC's are properly equipped, including the exchange of propane tanks. Check computer for truck orders, make sure orders are correct, verify scheduling and set delivery. Check for supply orders and make sure they are delivered to locations in a timely manner. Provide training/ hands on work experience for employees through direct demonstration and instructions. Ensure adherence to agency safety/security policies, procedures and practices. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Handle all donations carefully and take them to proper area within warehouse. Place specific trash in regular or metal dumpster or compacter as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements: Tow motor certification required. This safety-sensitive position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing during the course of employment. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, bilateral reaching all levels; bilateral handling and fingering, fine fingering and simple grasping ability; occasional sitting and kneeling; frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs., occasional lift/carry 51-100 lbs.; frequent push/pull up to 50 lbs. at varying distances. Indoor/outdoor conditions. Must wear steel-toe footwear. This is an hourly position with offered benefits of Health, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Term Life, Retirement, and Paid Time Off.
