It will offer candidates in-depth experience and hands-on training in our three-primary construction operating divisions- Building, Mechanical and Utility Construction. Do you feel you're up to the challenge for this rigorous CMT Program? Position Summary: We are looking for recent college graduates to be part of our Construction Management Training (CMT) Program. This unique training program encompasses a twenty-four-month long rotation in the main areas of construction management: Project Management, Site Supervision, and Estimating. At the end of this intense on-the-job program, trainees graduate and continue their careers dedicated to the role of Assistant Project Manager, Assistant Superintendent, or Assistant Estimator with an understanding of the entire life cycle of a job. Position Overview: As you rotate through your 8-month assignments in each of the three key functional areas of Project Management, Site Supervisor, and Estimating, you will be assigned a Mentor who will outline the specific competencies and tasks that you will be learning in order to gain the experience necessary in each of the functional areas. You will also spend time in our Safety department, as a Safety Officer, to understand our 24/7 Safety Culture. Specific Responsibilities by Functional Area: Project Management: Assist Project Manager is project Pre-Planning Process (P3), which involves planning work schedule, updating project schedule, and arranging for assignment of project personnel. Assist in the coordination of project personnel activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. May advise Project Manager of potential problems, work interference's, schedule difficulties. Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required. Compose and/or edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures as required. Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items (i.e., purchase orders, financial reports, submittals, PCO's, and RFI's.) per supervisor's authorization. Prepare special reports, studies, timesheets, and statistical analysis per supervisor's request. Such items would usually require research, development and/or interpretation of data and be performed with little supervision or instruction. Assist Project Manager in the preparation of the Forward/Backward reports. Site Supervision: Assist in supervising the field construction work effort to ensure work is constructed in accordance with design, budge and schedule. Includes interfacing with Customer, Project Managers, Site Supervisor, other contractors, etc. Ensures the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications. Develops and implements work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site. Schedule and dispatch field employees and sub-contractors for most efficient use of labor, equipment and materials. Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site work and emergency job functions (scheduling, material control, personnel and may provide day-to day direction, technical advice and quality control) in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified. Maintain accurate time a d material records and complete client paperwork as required. Time sheets, work orders, billing descriptions, project report, etc. Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety programs, requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and implement corrective action. Estimating: Assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates for one or more discipline areas. Technical aspects and company procedures can be learned through on-the-job training. Calculate various statistical data quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment, etc. Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates. Participate in developing project update, bid package estimate documents and requests for quotes (RFQ). Maintain vendor files and estimating system on the computer. Maintain catalog files and working documents. Receive and review drawings and/or plans from design partners and architects. Hiring Requirement/Preferences Four year business or technical degree, or relative field experience. Two years of experience in construction design, finance, and management desirable. Education may be substituted for experience. Good communication skills required; food interpersonal and organizational skills mandatory. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office. Experience with one or all of the following: Expedition, Timberline, and SureTrak. Position has continual contact with clients, management, and project staff. Must be courteous, professional, and diplomatic. Superior organization skills, and possess the ability to multi-task. OSHA 10 (company provided training) Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen Must have valid, unrestricted Drivers License R.H.
