Title: Respiratory Therapist Company: Children's Habilitation Center Website: https://childhabcenter.com/ Compensation: $38-40/hr; commensurate with experience Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Respiratory Therapy Supervisor Responsibilities: No Location: 121 W. 154th St in Harvey, IL Shift Options: Day Shift (6a-6:30p), Night Shift (6p-630am); PRN (Day & Night Shifts) Purpose: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services, as prescribed, in compliance with CHC policies and procedures and established respiratory therapy standards. Responsibilities: Administers adequate ventilation and oxygenation using proper respiratory equipment as prescribed Operates and maintains equipment that administers oxygen or assists with breathing Administers aerosol therapy and humidification as prescribed Assesses respiratory status of patients and communicates same to Charge Nurse Assures patient respiratory needs are met, i.e. CPT, postural drainage, suctioning Participates in physician rounds as assigned Monitors patient's oxygen status daily Documents all services/treatments and patient care activities per CHC policy Responds to Code Blue situations Maintains equipment according to established infection control guidelines Monitors standing orders for oxygen for oxygen weaning, ETCO2, pulse oximetry, etc. Qualifications: Active IL State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license 1 year of experience, preferably in a pediatric setting Ability to pass criminal background check and drug testing Experience working with various socioeconomic populations is a plus. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
