Position Summary: Provide on- and off-site maintenance support to aircraft for demo, sales, and marketing events. Aids in receiving inspections of customer aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Supports MAR activities when not working on Demo support Primary Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance/Troubleshooting: 45% Provide aircraft maintenance support during demonstration trips, supporting the continued airworthiness of the aircraft. Perform maintenance and inspections using airframe and power plant (A&P) license outside of certified repair station (CRS). Perform advanced troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to identify corrective action required to assure safety and airworthiness of aircraft. Conduct applicable airframe calendar/hourly inspections, hidden damage inspections of airframe structures and sub-assemblies. Conduct operational and functional checks of structures, systems, and/or components as the need arises, verifying acceptability/airworthiness. Responsible for ensuring physical security of aircraft, partner with fixed base operator (FBO) if needed. Ensure aircraft is detailed and prepared for displays. Perform aircraft disassembly and reassembly as the need arises for aircraft movement, may include loading/offloading aircraft to/from trailer. Participate in flight tests on aircraft. Perform track and balancing of rotor systems and vibration analysis. Rigorously observe foreign object damage/debris (FOD), tool control and calibrated tool policies. 2. Inspections: 35% Accomplish in-process and final inspections for maintenance, repair, modification, and rework of aircraft components and sub-assemblies. Tasks will include: "Clearance-to-close" inspections, torque check verifications, dimensional checks, flight control system installation verifications and flight control rigging checks of Airframe, Engine(s), hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems for integrity and compliance with manufacturer's and FAA requirements and regulations. Perform thorough receiving inspection of aircraft, determining overall airworthiness of aircraft through physical examination of aircraft and associated records. Proficient in inspections to identify airworthiness impacts of any found discrepancies 3. Documentation/Compliance: 15% Update applicable maintenance tracking program daily. Monitor and forecast for upcoming maintenance and assure timely compliance with inspections. Ensure compliance with production and repair station policies / procedures / forms and FAA Regulations. Research, compile and document all applicable maintenance for airframe, engine, accessories and components in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved regulations and company procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable calendar/hourly inspections, life limited or cycle limited components, airworthiness directives and alert service bulletins. Document and return airframe, engine, accessories or components to service after maintenance, repair or modification. Review all 337s associated with the aircraft. Track and coordinate forecasted removals, repairs and material requirements for all TBO (Time between Overhaul) and SLL (Service Life Limit) assets. Compose and prepare all required Aircraft maintenance documentation in relation to qualifying the airworthiness or return to service of aircraft, engines, parts, components and systems. Perform aircraft mass and balance record calculations in accordance with AC 43.13-1B, chapter 10 in conjunction with applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manuals. 4. Coordination/Customer Interface: 5% Coordinate internal resources across functional departments to prepare availability of aircraft. Coordinate receiving and storage of customer furnished equipment in accordance with company procedures and compliance to government standards when applicable. Interact with the customer at conventions, demonstrations, and delivery; prepare for delivery inspection and correct customer discrepancies. Keep MAR management appraised of aircraft status and progress, and of existing or potential problems. Provide recommended course of action for problem resolution consistent with established company goals and priorities. Support sales and demo teams with technical advice, e.g. configuration, compatibility etc. Coordinate receiving and storage of customer furnished equipment in accordance with company procedures and compliance to government standards when applicable. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: High School Diploma Preferred: College Degree Associated with Aerospace Experience: Required: Minimum six (6) years aviation maintenance experience Minimum two (2) years flight line experience Helicopter maintenance experience Airbus Helicopter airframe experience Preferred: SAFRAN Turbomeca engine experience Pratt and Whitney engine experience Six years of diversified experience on Airbus Helicopter products either as a maintainer or quality inspector specifically on one or more of the following airframes: AS350, EC130, EC135, and EC145 Licensure/Certifications: Required: Current FAA A&P license Preferred: Inspection Authorization(IA) Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required: Background in aviation maintenance on like type aircraft and systems. General knowledge of standard practices and troubleshooting methods. Project and process management skills, ability to multi-task and handle high volume workloads independently. Understand customer expectations, enthusiastically support others and achieve the highest level of customer service. Effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel. Understand and be familiar with the FAA regulations 14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145 processes. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Required: English written and spoken Technical Systems Proficiency: Required: None Preferred: None Travel Required: 75% Domestic and International Citizenship: US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license) Clearance: None Decision Making, Complexity: Demo technicians sign off maintenance and inspections under their own authority. Demo technicians must routinely judge the airworthiness of aircraft and serviceability of repairs, inspections and maintenance to aircraft and safety of operation. Included but is not limited to loss prevention of revenue, property or life. This judgment requires a high-degree of independent decision making and complexity may include making command decisions regarding safety of flight or ground operations of aircraft. Able to determine when an issue should be elevated to the next level of management for support and not be hesitant to seek support quickly when needed to avoid issues or delays Able to determine interdepartmental needs and reach out independently to those contacts as needed to provide or seek support as needed. Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference, phone, or radio and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some many tools including maintenance tools daily. Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer, in flight daily Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor daily. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice 65% of the time. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily.
