Title: Senior Tax Analyst FLSA Status: Exempt Summary The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for preparing the federal consolidated income tax return, preparing and reviewing state and local income/franchise tax returns, and analyzing, preparing and reviewing sales and use tax filings. This position is also responsible for assisting with tax research, preparing income tax provision workpapers and gathering audit support. Job Responsibilities Prepare consolidated federal income tax return, including federal income tax estimates and extensions Prepare/review state and local income/franchise tax filings, including estimates and extensions Prepare income tax provision calculations and workpapers Respond to correspondence and notices from various tax authorities Work with IRS and state auditors on examinations, and public auditors on income tax related financials as required Provide tax advice to members of the corporate organization Organize and maintain tax records to provide adequate support for audits Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation or review of sales & use tax returns under tight deadlines Analyze sales data from plants and identify potential reporting issues Research sales & use tax treatment of complex transactions with an emphasis on manufacturing and construction contracting Assist with international tax reporting including transfer pricing and country by country reporting Competencies Working knowledge of federal, state & local tax concepts – federal consolidated returns, state income tax separate/combined/unitary filings and sales and use taxes Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while completing tasks in a timely manner Excellent analytical skills encompassing problem identification, evaluation and resolution Must work well in group problem solving situations Pursues training and skill development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge, shares expertise with others Understands business implications of decisions, including demonstrating knowledge of market and competition Expected to undertake self-development activities and seek increased responsibilities Must be a self-starter Communicates effectively Proficient with Thomson Reuters OneSource tax preparation software and various tax research services Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university – CPA or MST a plus At least three years of experience in the tax field – preferably Big-4/ national public accounting firm or public corporation Oracle Cloud experience a plus Job Posted by ApplicantPro
