Concrete Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative

JOB LOCATION: Garner, NC PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coordinate ready mixed concrete deliveries between customer orders and trucked deliveries. Employees must exercise judgment, discretion, and have or obtain the required computer skills and software knowledge to perform their duties while maintaining exceptional customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Concrete Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative Take delivery orders through phone calls as well as through the internet. Ensure that the pertinent information taken is as accurate as possible. Delivery time, location, material type, etc. are all crucial elements of the process. Determine when no other orders can be taken, due to scheduled daily demands, but be flexible enough to meet the customer's needs. Establish a business relationship with customers that are calling in for orders. Interface with software designed to monitor truck progress: loading, driving, unloading, wash down, etc. Work in a fast paced office with multiple phone calls and interactions occurring simultaneously. Interact with production, sales, and the public on a regular basis. Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as required, or as directed by an appropriate manager. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in dispatching. Knowledge and understanding of concrete materials, mix designs and terms. Customer service experience. Physical Demands: Light physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving light weight material with occasional lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 5 and up to 25 pounds). Physical Activity: Position is generally very good working conditions but requires the ability to work infrequently around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is required only when at risk. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly ant the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
