Position The finance department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a senior accountant. This is an exempt position that works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters. This posting is open to internal and external candidates. Responsibilities The senior accountant is responsible for analyzing complex financial reports. The senior accountant prepares journal entries, reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations, and transaction reports. This person will be required to prepare reports with a high degree of accuracy. The senior accountant provides financial analysis, interpretation of variances, and recommendations to management. The person in this position also assesses internal controls, including risk assessments. Qualifications The most qualified senior accountant candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field. At least five years of accounting or finance experience. Experience with insurance accounting is preferred. CPA with previous auditing experience is preferred. Takes ownership of assigned projects. Excellent communication and organization skills. Understanding of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel An internal candidate should have six months in their current position. Candidates should have acceptable job performance and a good attendance record in their current position and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
