Morningstar Living is currently hiring a full time Staff Accountant for our Moravian Hall Square Campus in Nazareth, PA. The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes for Morningstar Senior Living including the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy. What will I do as a Staff Accountant? Execute the monthly financial close process, creating and inputting post-closing journal entries, investigating and resolving incorrect entries created through the journal entry process, or the batch posting of billing and accounts payable information Reconcile all balance sheet accounts Maintain the general ledger software and chart of accounts Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts as required. Participate in the preparation of the annual Form 990 filed with the Internal Revenue Service. Participate in the preparation of Form 5500 and the audited financial statements for the Company's retirement plan. Participate in the preparation of annual audited GAAP financial statements for the Company. Participate in the preparation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. Participate in the preparation of the annual report filed with the department of insurance Maintain the fixed assets system Maintain the actuarial information tracking database (LifeCalc) What do I need to be in the role of Staff Accountant? BS or BA degree in accounting or another related business major preferred A minimum of two years' of accounting experience Proficient with Microsoft Excel Familiarity with GAAP for not-for-profit entities or healthcare entities a plus Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and spreadsheets. Experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or health care field preferred. Good oral and written communication skills.
