Description:
St. Thomas Aquinas School, located on the north side of Indianapolis in the Butler Tarkington neighborhood is seeking a Resource Teacher starting August 2023. This position includes working with the Differentiated Learning Team to provide academic support for 5th - 8th Grade students with special education needs and learning plans. In conjunction with homeroom teachers, this position would provide supplemental Math and ELA support for Grades 5-8. - Provide research-based specialized instruction to address instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP or Service Plan - Collaborate with Grades 5-8 classroom teachers to see that classroom accommodations are being met and provide intervention strategies/suggestions to best assist students with learning plans - Progress monitor students in a classroom who are struggling or may need retaught skills via small group instruction - Support school-wide implementation of Response to Intervention by meeting with classroom teachers to collect student record data and collaborate on interventions. Seeking a creative and positive individual who demonstrates strong faith; focuses on building strong relationships with students and staff; maintains a student-centered learning environment, and is willing to be an integral part of our close-knit community.
