It is truly a wonderful place to work! A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MATH AND SCIENCE TEACHER As our middle school teacher, you are a critical component of our school community's lifeblood . As a math and science teacher, you will work closely with your professional team to plan creative cross-curricular experiences for students. Montessori students do not rotate from class to class throughout the day but instead, typically stay in the same large community spaces for most classes allowing you to see their success across subject content . Your Montessori classroom is warm , inviting, and collaborative . You inspire students through project learning , outdoor education , and using creativity in all endeavors. As a Montessori teacher, you hike the mountain tops, tackle deep global concerns at the Montessori Model United Nations in NY, and help students plan and execute community-based partnerships . You will also form deep connections with families you know, lead to better student performance. We like to say we are only limited by our own creativity, and there is no ceiling. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ELA AND SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER SC state certification for teaching ELA & social studies Teaching experience Knowledge about effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques True passion for the art of teaching and learning Are you skilled in interpersonal relations with students, parents, teachers, staff, and the general public? Do you have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal? Are you team-oriented? Are you compassionate and caring while able to maintain professional boundaries?
