Summary Objective The purpose of this position is responsible for providing for the orderly receipt, packing, storage, and disposition of evidence/property coming into the possession of the Police Department. The employee exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in determining practices and procedures within the limits of departmental rules and regulations and applicable laws and ordinances. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. Minimum Requirements Requires graduation from a standard high school or possessing a GED equivalent. Requires five years of progressively responsible work experience in property or evidence management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation, which includes a polygraph,for employment in the Police Department.
