Principal of Solterra Academy Solterra Academy is an Approved Private Special Education Program located in New Britain, CT providing comprehensive special education services to students ages 5 to 22 who require intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. To learn more about our school, go to https://www.SolterraAcademy.com The Principal of Solterra Academy serves as the Chief Administrator and is responsible for the overall supervision and direction of staff, curriculum, and clinical services provided at the school. The Principal leads the Administrative Team of Assistant Principals, Clinical Director, and Clinical Coordinator along with the HR, IT, and Facilities Managers to ensure the smooth functioning of the school on a daily basis. The Principal is responsible for the school's compliance with all CT State Department of Education guidelines and reporting requirements. They will work closely with the Director of Education regarding marketing plans, the annual budget for the school, and the development of all school policies and procedures. Education, Knowledge, and Experience Required Bachelor's and Master's Degree with at least one in Special Education or Related Service Field. 6th Year or Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. Must have 092 Certification from CT SDE as well as an endorsement in Special Education or Related Services Minimum of five year's experience in come aspect of special education or related services At least three year's experience in school administration. Comprehensive knowledge of CT Special Education Laws and Regulations with experience facilitating PPT Meetings. Knowledge of CT's SEED process for Teacher Evaluation.
