Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Company: Children's Habilitation Center Website: https://childhabcenter.com/ Compensation: $30.40/hr plus shift differentials Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt Reports to: Charge Nurse Supervisor Responsibilities: No Location: 121 W. 154th St in Harvey, IL Shift Options: Day Shift (7a-3:30p), Evening Shift (3p-11:30p), or Night Shift (11p-7:30am) Many opportunities for overtime; longer hours periodically based on organizational needs Sign-On Bonus: Generous sign-on bonuses will be discussed during the hiring process. Purpose: The Licensed Practical Nurse works to provide high-quality acute and chronic care nursing to our pediatric and adult population by assessing existing problems and anticipating potential problems. Responsibilities: Administers and charts enteral feedings, treatments, and medications Monitors intravenous infusions when present Maintains the treatment and medicine carts in a clean and orderly manner Makes frequent rounds to all assigned patients to assess patients and anticipate a problem Directs team assistants as needed; assists with feeding and dressing residents as needed Accompanies patients in the clinic and/or emergency transports via ambulance Gives and receives the change of shift report; makes rounds with physicians as assigned Responds to code blue emergencies as assigned; report unusual incidents to Charge RN and document Verifies monthly orders and any additions or changes to orders daily Ensures that assigned patients have ordered medications on hand, and reorder medications as needed Completes nursing assessments and summaries, as assigned Qualifications: Active IL State Registered Nursing (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting CPR Certification (American Heart Association) Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug testing Experience working with various socioeconomic populations is a plus. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
