The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) provides quality rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illnesses. We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. RHI has two locations. Our facility on the northwest side of Indianapolis provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to patients 15 years of age and older. Our facility on the north side of Indianapolis specializes in outpatient, interdisciplinary brain injury services for ages 15 and older as well as serves clientele with neuro and ortho-physical therapy needs and pediatric vision needs. Summary The Telephone Operator/Receptionist is responsible for answering and processing calls to the hospital switchboard, guiding and directing visitors to the hospital as well as performing routine clerical support functions. Essential Functions Operates telephone equipment efficiently while accurately processing routine telephone calls - maintaining high paced workload Complete calls as directed - those that require special attention Responsible for responding to various paging requests Greet, guide, and direct all visitors to the hospital in a friendly and professional manner Provide clerical support and routine duties for various departments Assist in maintaining monthly updated hospital directory Other duties as assigned Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Experience with PBX, computer, overhead pager, copier, printer, scanners Two years of receptionist/customer service in a hospital setting preferred Switchboard experience preferred The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
