Operations Manager/ Craftsman for a Concrete Countertop Facility Living Stone specializes in pre-cast, GFRC based concrete applications. Hand made concrete countertops, sinks, fireplace surrounds custom fire pits, furniture, etc are becoming the hot item to have in many restaurants and bars, along with homeowners. We are growing again and looking for the right person to come learn from some of the best tradesmen in the business and also handle some of the operations of the plant for this hot new trade. Candidates need to be open minded and willing to learn! Skills you will learn as part of creating custom concrete: -- Creating custom designs. -- Building forms, making concrete. -- Finishing. -- Perform layout, forming and set up of custom work to be cast in concrete. -- Must have an exceptional eye and patience for detail. -- Experienced with hand tools and doing work in the field. -- Be extremely reliable, responsible and take direction well. Responsibilities for the operations manager part of the job: -- Work with project manager to schedule and organize day-to-day operations of production facility and makes adjustments if necessary. -- Be active in final inspections of pieces before delivery. -- Installations of finished pieces. -- Estimate time and resource requirements for projects. -- Oversee, recommend, and implement safety policies and procedures. -- Maintenance and repair of facilities, machinery and equipment. -- Maintain records of equipment, supplies and labor hours using software programs. -- Coordinate ordering and pick up of equipment and materials. Ideal candidate will be responsible! Show up on time and have willingness to learn, grow and continually improve. Prior experience in trades such as cabinetry, framing, welding, etc. is a must. At out shop we work with concrete mostly but also do a fair amount with woods and metals, a lot of different skills can be learned and also shared with us from your experience. Flexible schedule available. 35+ hours per week depending on how fast you learn. Winter work as well, this is not a seasonal job!
