Field Service Mechanic

Description:
The Field Service Mechanic will perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of heavy equipment, while using a high degree of independent judgment. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for service documentation, training of lower level technicians, demonstration of equipment for customer use, order needed parts from vendors when necessary, and travel to customer site. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimally five years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Basic knowledge and use of office equipment and computer skills REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Highly developed mechanical background with various engines Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams Own tools required to perform job Strong teamwork, written and verbal communications skills ESSENTIAL AND NON-ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Commute to job or customer sites to conduct equipment maintenance and repairs Conduct equipment functionality, use, and safety tests Training of other mechanics as needed All other miscellaneous duties as assigned WORKING CONDITION / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work environment is consistent with that of construction equipment yard and repair shop Safety training and PPE is required Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. Must be available to work overtime and weekends Valid DOT medical card and passed DOT physical Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping This role profile is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
