DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Programs Supervisor, or his/her delegate, assists with a variety of janitorial tasks, supervises public ice skating, and performs cash function at the Sportsplex during public skating, and related programmes. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Supervise public use of the Sportsplex; Maintain order on the ice surface; Perform janitorial duties, as assigned; Collect payment for public ice activities; Other related duties, as required. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Completion of Grade 11; Ability to operate related equipment; Proficient skater; Experience teaching youth considered an asset; Some janitorial experience; First Aid training; Ability to work independently and to accomplish tasks and assignments; Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public; Good written and oral communication skills. A criminal record check will be required to be provided by all potential successful applicants to this position prior to it being awarded.
