ASGCO engineers, manufactures, distributes a wide array of conveyor and screening components, all specifically designed for the above ground and underground mining, aggregate, cement, recycling, bulk shipping terminals, pulp and paper, recycling, food processing and other bulk material handling industries. We focus on providing exceptional products and service to our customers with the best solutions to their conveyor and screening material handling applications. We are seeking a Safety Manager that will be responsible for safety processes and related programs at all ASGCO sites. We are looking for someone that proactively educates employees on Federal and State safety regulations, coordinates and directs safety and related legal activities (MSHA, OSHA, and DOT) and represents ASGCO with outside agencies and inspectors. This position is responsible for managing risk by inspecting work areas inside as well as out on job sites to determine potential safety and health hazards, identifying safety and health issues and reducing and eliminating unsafe working conditions and ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Priority on overseeing supervision in incident/accident investigationAssist supervision in training all employees in the basics of Loss ControlMust possess the ability to lead and motivate associatesProactively address Employee safety issues in a positive manner that builds trust with employeeWork with management to develop annual safety budgetLead the investigation and root cause analysis for safety and health incidents in a timely mannerResponsible for record-keeping and other documentation related to company health and safety requirementsWork with location safety managers to perform audits, and stay in compliance with DOT, OSHA, MSHA, etc.Work closely with management and HR to manage all worker?s compensation claimsMust be a team-player and possess the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work with diverse groupsConduct emergency callsImplement boiler plate pre-qualified forms for contract worksPerform as Safety Leader on field service jobs as requiredActively monitor and audit work processes and practices for safety compliance and coach employees to follow best safety practicesPrepare and communicate findings and recommend corrective actions on all safety issuesComply with all company policies and procedures in the shop and in the fieldOversee third party random drug screening companywideAddress employee safety concerns in a professional mannerProvide accurate interpretation of MSHA regulationsProactively identify and interpret new and existing laws, rules and regulations necessary for development and interpretationProvide the necessary reporting to state mining authorities in those states where we conduct businessKnowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practicesOther job duties as assigned by managementMinimum Requirements: College degree requiredOccupational Safety & Environmental Health degree preferred1-3 years of experience in industrial safety related field leading and implementing safety programs with supervisory experience preferredMSHA card holder preferredOSHA 10 and 30 certified instructorFamiliar coordinating and reporting to third party compliance groups i.e. Browz, Aveda, ISN, etc.Travel to job-sties and all ASGCO facilities as requiredComputer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookDemonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performanceProblem solving and analytical skillsDemonstrated competency in adapting to changeSelf-motivated and willing to devote time to training programsMust be hardworking, dedicated, and a fast learnerEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks is a plusCriteria/Conditions Work is performed in various industrial settings and environments, including: shop, mining, and construction which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workdayPersonal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.ASGCO, Inc promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing.Opportunities: ASGCO offers a competitive base salary with outstanding commission potential and a progressive benefits package, including 401(k) and profit sharing, college tuition plans, health care, as well as, an opportunity for professional growth.
