About you As a Senior Content Manager and Copywriter, you will join a team that brings together decades of labor, marketplace, and staffing experience. We are looking for a strategic-minded individual who can capture our unique voice and propel it through the industry. As a B2B provider of services to employers, we have a growing need to provide not only the software tools our customers need, but also to provide value-add informational content to help customers with their buying decisions, engage with our target customers in new ways, and to reinforce Turn’s brand. A successful candidate will need an entrepreneurial and “builder” mindset to help stand up this new function at Turn. Development of the content strategy will require a deep understanding of our business, the customers that we serve, and content creation best practices. We use data-driven insights to guide our work, but we also believe in a healthy dose of spirited storytelling as we strive to transform the contingent labor landscape. Our ideal candidate also has experience as a copywriter who can stun us with their creativity, vision, and eloquence. It’s not a small or easy task, but it’s a fun and rewarding one. If you think you’re up for it, read on. Your Responsibilities: It’s unlikely you’ll encounter a typical day, but you can expect to pivot between B2B, B2C, and internal communications at a fluid pace. Here’s what you can expect to deliver consistently: Written copy for a variety of audiences, including our B2B partners where people reading your material will come from the Trust and Safety or Worker Procurement Teams at labor marketplaces like Uber, Grubhub, or Instacart. Sometimes your audience will be directly prospective instant-ready workers interested in a variety of potential work opportunities or investors who may be interested in our perspective on thematic changes happening in the industry. Exacting attention to detail, whether it’s punctuating your copy, crafting the message for a marketing campaign, or staying true to our brand’s tone and style across all mediums including website, white papers, blog posts, social media content, and product/service descriptions. A love of collaborating with your team members — art directors, UX designers, developers, marketers — as well as multiple departments ranging from sales to legal, to consistently deliver polished, award-worthy work. An up-to-date knowledge of the labor industry (including evolving trends in gig employment, challenges facing workers, and regulatory impacts) to help reaffirm Turn’s place as a thought leader and industry expert. A natural ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders and the ability to successfully influence others to reach desired organizational outcomes is key to success. Additional Responsibilities: • Consolidating Turn’s content marketing practices into one newly formed, centralized function. • Developing an overarching content marketing strategy and voice that aligns with Turn’s overall business strategy. • Providing strategic direction and thought leadership in applying content best practices for Sales and Marketing. • Establishing processes for content creation. • Developing and maintaining an editorial calendar to organize and schedule content • Regularly capturing and reporting on relevant metrics that uncover meaningful content marketing insights for our business. • In the near to medium term, helping us build a more flushed out content team to support our growing needs.
