Job: Javascript Developer Date : 09/18/2014 onward Type : Part-time or Full-time Position: Javascript developer Compensation: Ranges based on experience The Lacuna Stories Project ( http://www.lacunastories.com ) seeks a developer to help us extend the capabilities of existing Drupal modules for our online reading and teaching platform. You will be working directly with a team of digital humanities researchers in the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis (CESTA; http://cesta.stanford.edu ) to add new functionality to an exciting digital reading, annotation, and teaching platform developed with the support of the Vice Provost for Online Learning, the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, the School of Education, and the Center for Teaching and Learning, among other partners. This position offers an opportunity to contribute in concrete ways to the advancement of a vibrant and interdisciplinary project. Although this position is currently scoped for the completion of specific milestones, the possibility for longer-term membership in the project team is a distinct possibility. RESPONSIBILITIES • Participate effectively as part of a cross-functional team that includes researchers, instructors, and technologists • Debug and extend functionality in existing Javascript code • Work in close collaboration with the Lacuna Stories Technical Director REQUIREMENTS • Proficiency in Javascript, git, and *nix • Excellent analytical/troubleshooting skills • Attention to detail and quality oriented • Strong communication skills • Independent and self-motivated individual who takes initiative and ownership of projects • Great team player PREFERRED • Proficiency in jQuery, d3, Annotator.js, and/or Coffeescript • Knowledge of Drupal • A thorough understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform web development Contact: Brian Johnsrud, XXXX@stanford.edu
