Job Descriptions A tradesperson who installs sheetrock and other wallcoverings, including mud and plaster, in residential and commercial buildings. They use a variety of tools, including a power saw and a drill, to cut and attach the drywall. A person who installs drywall, a type of plasterboard used in construction. Drywall is a durable and easily repaired wallboard that is typically installed in walls and ceilings. Responsible for applying a layer of drywall to an exterior wall and installing trim. The installer may use a variety of tools, including a saw, drill, and screwdriver. A trade that installs sheets of drywall, a type of plasterboard, using a hammer, saw, and chisel. Drywall is used to cover walls and ceilings in homes and commercial buildings. Responsible for installing drywall in residential and commercial settings. They may need to use a variety of tools, including a saw, drill, and a hammer. Skills, Knowledges and Proficiencies Ability to read construction drawings. Good physical strength and stamina. Duties and Responsibilities The duty is generally to install and remove drywall, sheetrock, and other building materials, to ensure the walls and ceilings are properly sealed and protected from the elements. A drywall installer must have a good understanding of drywall installation and how it works in order to properly complete their job. They must be able to identify any problems with the drywall installation and fix them as soon as possible. The duty is to make sure the framing is properly attached to the drywall and that no gaps or tears exist. If any gaps or tears are found, the installer is to repair the issue. Additionally, the installer is responsible for ensuring that no water leaks into the structure, and that the drywall is properly sealed against moisture. The duty is to install, repair, and maintain drywall in residential and commercial settings. Drywall is a very common construction material, and its installation is often required during renovation or new construction.
