The ideal candidate will focus on all aspects of representing debtors and major creditors in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, distressed lending and asset acquisitions, and bankruptcy litigation. The role involves representing a variety of clients in restructuring transactions, including cross-border cases, bankruptcy-related litigations, and special representations. The attorney will draft and negotiate core restructuring documents and bankruptcy litigation documents while maintaining effective communication with colleagues, clients, and other counsel.Duties:Represent corporate debtors, lenders, financial institutions, creditors, and other entities in a wide range of restructuring transactions, including out-of-court restructurings, prepacked and prearranged Chapter 11 filings, traditional Chapter 11 filings, 363 asset purchases, and other distressed lending transactions across various industries.Draft and negotiate core restructuring documents, including forbearance agreements, restructuring/plan/transaction support agreements, chapter 11 petitions, first-day motions and filings, debtor-in-possession financing documents, cash collateral documents, plans of reorganization, disclosure statements and exhibits, solicitation materials, investigatory reports, bidding procedures, and asset purchase agreements.Draft bankruptcy litigation documents, including complaints, answers, discovery devices, procedural motions, and related filings.Communicate and correspond with colleagues, clients, and other counsel.Conduct legal research primarily in bankruptcy-related contexts.Utilize library reference materials and/or electronic resource tools for research.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.Organize and prioritize workload.Understand and follow written and oral directions.Utilize software tools, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.Requirements:JD degree.Bachelor's degree.Admission to practice law in the State of New York.3-4 years of full-time bankruptcy and corporate reorganization experience, including representing major Chapter 11 debtors, significant financial creditors, and buyers in 363 purchases.Prior experience drafting core restructuring and bankruptcy litigation documents.Top academic credentials.Stellar law firm employment history.Skills:Strong legal research skills in bankruptcy-related contexts.Effective use of library reference materials and electronic resource tools.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
