This role involves conducting patent-related research and providing technical expertise in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting patent attorneys in various aspects of patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.Job Details:Duties:Conduct prior art database searches to support patentability and freedom to operate analyses.Analyze patent documents, scientific papers, and related materials to assist patent attorneys in various legal matters.Draft patent applications and responses to office actions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.Provide advice and insights to lawyers on technology issues, preparing them for depositions and related legal proceedings.Requirements:Substantive industry experience and a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.Exceptional technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.Broad scientific knowledge in the fields of electrical engineering or computer science.Strong expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning is highly preferred.Initiative, fast learning ability, and effective teamwork skills.Eligibility to sit for the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) registration exam and meet the requirements for registration as a patent agent.Education:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field (required).Advanced degrees in these fields (preferred).Certifications:Eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam (required).Skills:Prior art search and analysis.Patent drafting and prosecution.Technical research and analysis.Legal and technical communication.Teamwork and collaboration.Benefits Offered: The law firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Health savings account (with the applicable medical plan).Health and/or dependent care flexible spending accounts.Pre-tax commuter benefits.Life insurance and ADD (Accidental Death Dismemberment) coverage.Long-term care coverage.Backup care for children and/or adults.Parental support benefits.Accrual of four weeks of vacation time per year.Accrual of two weeks of sick time per year.10 paid holidays each year.
