While prior experience is not required, the ideal candidate should be eager to learn and grow within the firm. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, a competitive salary with bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package after three months of employment.Location:Pasadena, CADuties:Handle Workers' Compensation defense cases, representing employers and insurance carriersManage a caseload of claims from start to finishDraft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responsesAttend hearings and proceedings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to strategize and manage casesCommunicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in casesParticipate in case evaluations, settlements, and negotiationsKeep up to date with changes in Workers' Compensation law and proceduresRequirements:2-10 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense (entry-level candidates with a strong interest in defense work will also be considered)Active California Bar Number (required)Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to learnExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamComfort with hybrid work environment (remote and in-office)Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active membership in the California State Bar (CA Bar Number required)Skills:Familiarity with Workers' Compensation law and procedures (preferred)Strong legal research and writing skillsAbility to manage a caseload and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and client service skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational abilitiesBenefits:Competitive salary, based on experience, with potential for bonusesComprehensive benefits after 3 months of employment, including:85% coverage for Health, Vision, and Dental insuranceBasic Life InsuranceGenerous 401(k) matchPaid Time Off (PTO) and Sick TimeMonthly Auto and Cell Phone StipendGym reimbursementPaid firm retreats
