This position provides an opportunity to represent major employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and uninsured employers in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a valid California State Bar license and a passion for Workers' Compensation law, whether as a defense or applicant attorney. Recent law school graduates with strong academic credentials are also encouraged to apply.Duties:Represent clients in Workers' Compensation cases throughout California, including cases before various WCAB venues in both Northern and Southern California.Manage a caseload involving both defense and subrogation matters related to workers' compensation claims.Provide legal counsel and strategy to employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and uninsured employers.Participate in hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings as necessary.Draft, review, and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure client objectives are met.Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and providing legal guidance.Stay updated on current developments in Workers' Compensation law to provide informed advice.Requirements:Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.Experience in Workers' Compensation law, either as a defense or applicant attorney, is preferred.Recent law school graduates with a strong academic record will also be considered.Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment while meeting deadlines.Professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership in the California State Bar.Skills:Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and experience with relevant defense strategies.Proficient in legal research, document preparation, and case management.Strong oral advocacy skills, particularly in hearings, depositions, and trial settings.Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.Client-focused, with the ability to maintain and build relationships with clients.Benefits:Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with employer matching.Paid vacation time and paid major holidays off.Business casual work attire with professional dress required for court appearances and trials.
