Wide Web Flexo Press Operator (Relocation Help Offered)

A growing flexible packaging company is seeking an experienced wide web flexo press operator. Must have experience printing on film, 8-10 colors. Plate mounting experience is a plus. Preference for work on Bielloni or Uteco presses. Great benefits package and room to grow with this organization. Hours are 6:00pm-6:30am alternating Mon-Thurs and Mon-Wed the following week. Summary of Functions: The Press Operator is responsible to perform all required work in a safe manner and to follow all company policies and procedures. They must set up print orders and operate the press at production standards or better and produce quality materials with minimal waste. They must communicate with and give instruction to their Press Helper. They are responsible for ensuring that the product does not become contaminated in any way and the equipment is maintained in a manner that ensures that it operates as designed and is safe at all times. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Follow all company policies and procedures 2. Be familiar with the operation of all safety devices on the press 3. Read and interpret the Job Jacket and History Folder 4. Set up orders to customer specifications 5. Check out orders per the job jacket set up requirements 6. Operate X-Rite Densitometer and recording color readings 7. Operate UPC scanner 8. Operate press during production runs 9. Monitor and adjust print quality as needed 10. Pull and sign off on tear sheet for each production roll 11. Check and report X-Rite reading during run 12. Record color densities and Delta E values in Color Management sheet 13. Save color swatches from start up and each roll 14. Provide proper labeling for completed rolls going to WIP 15. Washdown decks and remove sleeves at end of job 16. Set up and operate LOGIC system 17. Understand and use artwork and color standards 18. Prepare QA samples as procedures dictate 19. Check raw material films for the correct type and wind direction 20. Check ink for correct type and viscosity 21. Communicate and instructing the Press Helper 22. Understand QA Hold Tag system 23. Understand and document in DMR reports any defective materials 24. Communicate with incoming and outgoing operators at shift change 25. Complete all necessary paperwork including production and waste reports, and material pick sheets 26. Label and return unused rolls to inventory 27. Follow all GMP's to avoid product contamination 28. Keep work area and equipment clean per SQF Food Safety requirements 29. Perform Operator assigned preventative maintenance as scheduled 30. Hazardous waste drum handling and labeling 31. Ability to be cross trained on all flat bag machines 32. Various duties as assigned by supervisor Educational/Experience Requirements: Minimum 5 years operating wide web printing presses. Experience with 10-color printing presses preferred. Must be able lift a maximum of 50 lbs. Must be able to identify colors accurately.
