Job Title: Volunteer Minibus Driver Location: Rushden About us: SERVE is a charity established in 1981, registered as a charity in 1995, and based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. We support the North Northamptonshire residents as well as lead on Countywide Projects to reduce isolation amongst the Older Person's population. SERVE support North Northamptonshire residents as well as lead on Countywide Projects to reduce isolation amongst the Older Person's population. About the Role: To drive any of our 4 minibuses for outings, classes and other activities required. Key responsibilities: Collect the keys from the office, drive to the depot and collect the minibus. Return the minibus to depot and return keys Do relevant checks on bus safety and fuel up when needed Collect trip money from Service Users as needed To drive our Service Users from their homes and take them to their venue i. e Pub lunch with the assistance of an escort where applicable, supported by an escort where applicable. To safely use our wheelchair lifts if required To assist people with getting into and out of the bus where needed. Welcome new Service Users. To ensure the Service Users wear their seat belts and follow COVID guidelines. To assist with loading shopping onto the bus if required. To assist in handing out meals over the lunchtime period if needed and handling service users money to pay the venue. To assist people on the minibus journey to return to their homes at the end of day. About you: Must volunteer as part of a team and lone working Be reliable and trustworthy Must be able to relate to all Service Users Hold a clean drivers licence Must have a flexible approach towards undertaking relevant tasks Must be sympathetic towards people's circumstances Must respect confidentiality Adhere to current policies and procedures Liaise and volunteer alongside other staff allocated to work or volunteer in this area Report regularly to the Wellbeing Manager who supervise Report.
