The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC-MN) is looking for a full time Kennel Attendant to add to our team. Role Title: Kennel Attendant Department: ER / ICU Shift: Overnight (8pm-6am) Schedule: This is a two week rotation, scheduled every other weekend. Weekends Required, no more than 50% per month. Overnight weekends are considered Friday/Saturday instead of traditional Saturday/Sunday due to the start time of shifts. Holidays required, no more than four per year. Schedules are locked in 8 weeks into the future, so we cannot make changes without your approval within that time frame. All shifts are scheduled 8:00pm-6:00am, scheduled at our Oakdale Specialty hospital. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Week 1 Oakdale, Kennels Oakdale, Kennels Oakdale, Kennels Oakdale, Kennels Week 2 Oakdale, Kennels Oakdale, Kennels Oakdale, Kennels Compensation: Dependent on experiences, education, credentials and other factors. Shift Differential Eligibility: Eligible- $6/hr on top of base hourly wage. Relocation Assistance Eligibility: Ineligible Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance provided at up to 80% covered by AERC. The primary function of the Kennel Attendant is to ensure the cleanliness of the hospital. Kennel Attendants are responsible for maintaining proper disease control protocols, including cleaning of facility, preparation of kennels for patients, laundry, and general cleaning and stocking of the treatment floor(s). You will answer phone calls, enter data into the electronic medical record platform, and reduce patient anxiety by troubleshooting issues related to comfort care in the ICU, service failures, or other problems including identifying and resolving the problem through effective decision making and escalating issues when appropriate. You will function as an important role in the ER / ICU treatment room floors through cleaning, stocking, and laundry duties, as well as assisting the technicians and assistants with keeping animals clean, dry, and comfortable. Continued Professional Development. Skills can be taught. We value training and professional development. You will be provided with a minimum of 16 training shifts before you're set free to save lives. When you succeed, we all succeed. This is a primarily non animal handling role. Although you will not physically be handling patients often, you will work closely alongside them while focusing efforts to providing the best client care and support possible to both clients and the referring community.
