We are a busy and growing practice are in need of driven, caring, and experienced assistants to help us in providing excellent care to our patients and clients. At least 6 months of practical hands-on Veterinary Assistant experience or an appropriate certification is highly preferred.If hired, you will receive training in order to learn how our particular practice runs and so that you can get comfortable with everything, but potential applicants should be expected to know and be able to execute the following:Assist Doctors/LVTs with physical exams and treatmentsHow to take TPRs and knowing normal readingsAble to lift up to 40lbs and crouch/kneel without issueRestrain patients efficiently and safelyRestraint for bandages/catheters/blood drawsKnow different radiographic techniques and how to take them when the doctors ask and proper x-ray safetyMedicating patientsMonitoring patients under anesthesiaMaintaining sterility during surgical proceduresCommunicating with clients in exam roomsUsing blood machines for in-house labsCleaning and wrapping surgical instrumentsAdministering SQ fluid therapyNail trims/Ear cleaningsKnowing prescription medications and what they are forFilling prescriptions for clients with verification from doctorsBasic computer knowledge and computer entry Benefits 401K with 4% Match Flexable SchedulingPaid Time OffEmployee DiscountPowered by JazzHR
