Job Title:Turret Punch Press Operator ; Job Type:Full-time ; Job Location:Louisville, KY ; Job Skills: N/A ; Job Description: Job Title: Turret Punch Press Operator Reports To: Production Supervisor POSITION OVERVIEW * Operates turret punch press to punch holes or layout marks in metal sheets following charts which list machine settings for each cut by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Inserts, aligns, and locks punches and dies in turret. * Places material on table. * Aligns material to scale and end gauge on machine and clamps it to machine table. * Pushes button to turn turret to specified punch and die. * Turns cranks to set indicator to specified dimension on forward and lateral machine scale. * Presses pedal to activate punch. * Repeats operation for each machine setting specified on charts. * Positions center punch from turret to touch plate and turns crank to scratch layout lines. * Computes punch charts from blueprints. * Other duties may be assigned. LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers. REASONING ABILITY * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. * Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. * Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. * Ability and attitude to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required achieving internal and external customer satisfaction.
