**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse - Pediatrics **Job Specialty:** Pediatrics - RN Float Pool **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 + additional shift required per month, every other weekend) **Guaranteed Hours:** 34.50 **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting; must have PICU and pediatric step-down experience **License:** Registered Nurse with current registration **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) **Must-Have:** Pediatrics experience with competence in area assigned, including NICU, PEDS MS, PEDS Step-down, PCICU **Job Description:** - Deliver patient care by incorporating professional practice models and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and organizational nursing standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, employing critical thinking skills in patient management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the care plan. - Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team. - Manage assignments within the care delivery model, demonstrating material resource allocation effectively. - Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, considering their values, preferences, and cultural diversity. - Use evidence-based practices to improve patients' perceptions of care and initiate service recovery as needed. - Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Implement process improvement strategies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects. - Utilize institutional information technology for documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
