Job Details SURG TECH DECEMBER START 60 MILE RADIUS RULE May be asked to precept new staff Desire to work within an Operating Room setting. Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU's per year. Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned. Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Must arrive within 1/2 hour of getting called in. Job Requirements Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam. Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting. OR experience preferred BLS required. Schedule Information Days, 2-8 hour shifts and 2-12 hour shifts Weekend, call and holidays required
