Certification Details Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Cert Job Details Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5 Weekends - variable based on unit needs No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor Oncology experience preferred but not required Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units Patient Diagnoses include: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non hem cancers, Other benign hematology Special Procedures/Unit Details include: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies like tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Job Requirements Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs COMPUTERIZED CHARTING - EPIC Schedule Information Variable weekends based on unit needs No set/blocked scheduling Self-schedule requests available Unit Specific Information Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Chemotherapy and blood transfusion procedures Additional Details Residency Declaration Form Check UD/Unit Cost Center Link to determine qualifications required per unit AHA certifications only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable) Travelers can renew ACLS and BLS at the facility Additional facility-specific documentation required Annual learning and competency exams required Physical proof of BCI/FBI fingerprinting completion Background acknowledgement form Dress Code information Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism Form Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate requirements Physician documentation (Physical Exam) stating good health Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap requirements Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year Annual TB questionnaire required 2 MMR Vaccines or Positive Titer and additional health vaccinations Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 3 months of start Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season COVID-19 Vaccination recommendations
