About Our Client: Our client is a market-leading wool trader specializing in the cleaning and preparation of wool for a range of suppliers. They stand as an essential part of the wool supply chain, adhering to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Role Overview: We are currently recruiting a Trainee Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client. This role will predominantly focus on the maintenance and upkeep of specialized wool-cleaning machinery. We are especially interested in candidates with a mechanical bias. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of wool-cleaning machinery. Diagnose faults and execute minor repairs on machinery. Work in collaboration with the engineering team to ensure machinery is running optimally. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. Keep records and documentation of maintenance activities up-to-date. Requirements: Basic understanding and skills in mechanical engineering. Willingness to work in an extreme environment - please note that the workplace involves large, potentially dangerous machinery and has a distinct smell. Ability to work afternoon shifts from 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday morning work. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Preferences: Candidates with an accredited FLT Counterbalance are preferred, though not strictly required.
