Practice Area: Intellectual Property - Trademark/Copyright - Litigation, Job Type: Partner, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 8 Years, Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trademark Litigation Partner to join its nationally recognized Intellectual Property (IP) team in Chicago, IL or Washington, D.C. The role involves leading and managing high-stakes trademark and copyright litigation cases across various industries, with a strong focus on client representation in courts, arbitration, mediation, and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex IP disputes and a deep understanding of trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition law.Location:Chicago, ILDuties:Lead and manage trademark and copyright litigation cases from inception through resolution.Prosecute and defend opposition, cancellation, and other proceedings before the TTAB.Counsel clients on trademark, copyright, false advertising, unfair competition, and other IP disputes.Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.Develop and implement litigation strategies to protect and enforce clients’ trademark and copyright assets.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys.Network with existing clients and develop business opportunities.Represent the firm’s IP litigation group at industry events, including INTA and other associations.Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigating trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition cases in U.S. District Courts and before the TTAB.Proven track record in managing complex IP disputes.Experience working with diverse industries such as automotive, consumer products, internet technology, and social media.Strong problem-solving skills, high energy, and enthusiasm for client counseling.Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Education:J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for waiver into one of these jurisdictions.Skills:Ability to prioritize tasks and manage tight deadlines.Strong business development and client relationship skills.Expertise in developing and implementing litigation strategies.Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team.Benefits:Competitive compensation.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.Life and disability insurance.401(k) plan and student loan refinancing services.Open/flexible vacation policy.Generous paid parental leave.Legal training and business development support.Workstyle support and wellbeing programs.
