BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position): Provide guest service in the Timbers Café, and to supervise the performance of Timbers Café staff on an assigned shift. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee. To keep the Mill Casino Timber's area clean and sanitary. Take and fill food orders for guests of Timbers Café. Provide excellent guest service; resolve guest complaints. Delegate tasks to other servers on shift. Assist in inventories, ordering and supply tracking. Assist in any personnel issues such as scheduling, interviewing, employee relations, training and disciplinary issues. Assist in controls of food costs, as well as labor in the Timbers. To assure adequate staffing through management of personnel requests such as sick calls and requested days off. Ensure through proper scheduling that personnel receive the proper allowance of breaks and meal periods. Provide training to new hires and existing staff for maximum performance and productivity. Issue Service Recoveries as needed Issue Dining Vouchers as needed per the comp matrix Ensure staff compliance with policy when Timbers manager is not present. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience): Minimum one year exposure to commercial kitchen environment preferably in the casino or hotel industry. Minimum one year of progressive management experience demonstrating strong supervisory and guest relation skills. GED or HS Diploma with food service management schooling preferred. Must be 18 years of age. Must have valid OLCC service permit or the ability to obtain one and working knowledge of OLCC regulations. ServeSafe certification required or must have the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment. Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Demonstrated aptitude for cooking. Must be able to follow written instructions. Must have the ability to provide instructions to others verbally and in written form.
