Networking group develops control plane and data plane Networking stacks for Apple's innovative products including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod, and Mac OS. Leveraging adaptive machine learning techniques, this group continuously improves the user's network connectivity experience.DescriptionNetworking group is looking for a passionate software quality engineer to join our group to develop and automate tests and work on performance characterization tests. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who has the skills to debug complex and layered software stacks. You will be self-motivated and will design and develop analysis and visualization software tools to improve screening process efficiency. You will collaborate with multiple teams and thrive in a dynamic and innovative environment.Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. Strong programming skills with Python, C/C++. Experience developing scripts and tools. Ability to work with multi-functional engineering teams.Preferred Qualifications Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment. Familiarity with the TCP/IP suite of protocols. Familiarity with network configuration protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP, Bonjour, etc). Track record of shipping high-quality products. Ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary quality. Experience with system performance characterization is a plus. Innovative, flexible, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.Additional Requirements At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
