Technical Product Manager

As a vital core member of Monsterful, the Technical Product Manager will play a critical role in leading a team of cross-functional software developers to consistently deliver highly complex features predictably and efficiently, while maintaining high team morale.You will work out of our midtown Manhattan office and lead the team through planning, creating requirements documentation, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. We seek a great - and detail oriented - communicator with computer skills and background to serve as liaison between business and technical professionals overseeing the development and maintenance of multiple ongoing products. You will maintain and innovate info technology strategies by managing staff as well as researching and implementing technological strategic solutions. You will be responsible for the planning, executing, and finalizing of products according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of teammates and 3rd-party contractors or consultants to deliver products according to plan. As the Technical Product Manager, you will define each Product’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout the lifecycle of each.You will set deadlines and assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress of products, as well as prepare reports for management regarding the status of products. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage a cross-functional team of software developers.Create Product Documentation; Product Requirement Documents, Business Requirements Documents, Feature Specification Documents, etc.Guide development of product schedules based on product requirements, technical challenges, and business needs.Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment.Work as a project manager on an as-needed basis.Identify and access resources needed.Work together with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple product project timelines, anticipating potential issues or resource gaps and ensuring they are pre-empted or addressed efficiently.Engage with cross-functional teams to enable your teammates to identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues, and to deliver product projects on time.Develop and manage work breakdown structure (WBS) of software engineering projects.Develop or update product plans for software engineering including info such as product objectives, technologies, systems, details specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.Manage product execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.Ensure product documents and status reports are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.Coordinate recruitment or selection of product personnel.Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to product personnel.Develop and manage annual budgets for software engineering projects.Develop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI).Establish a communication plan and manage communication within and between internal and external development teams, senior management, and sales personnel (to include detailed SOW orders & Work-Back Schedules)Coach software engineering teams on how to utilize/manage internal and external resources Identify, review, or select vendors or consultants to meet product needs.Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans as needed.Negotiate with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materials while managing budgeted expenses.Assess current or future customer needs and priorities by communicating directly with customers and the Client Care team, conducting surveys, and through other means identified.Confer with product personnel to anticipate, identify and resolve problems.Monitor the performance of product teammates, providing and documenting performance feedback.Perform risk assessments to develop response strategies and disaster recovery plans.Submit product deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards. REQUIREMENTS & REQUIREMENTS : At least 3 (3) years of product background with 1 (1) year as a product owner of a single product.At least 1 (1) year of programming background and an acute understanding of how the front end and back end connect.A strong understanding of RESTful architecture principles with an expertise to create, edit and work with multiple APIs.Min Intermediate level in HTML, CSS, SQL, JS, PHP, Expert level in all a definite plus.A strong understanding of object oriented programming (OOP), functional programming and state. Background running Scrum with multiple teams.Background working on big platforms with multiple integrated services.Knowledge of development processes and best practices.High degree of comfort creating wireframes, building, or directing the build out of interactive prototypes.Background with product and issue tracking systems.Appreciation and understanding of baseball, history of playing - or a passion for - sports preferred.Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent background from an accredited college or university). Background in research, incubation, and/or startups.Superior verbal and written correspondence skills.Strong business and organizational knowledge, and a proven expertise to self-direct and execute results.Excellent presentation skills with a work experience of success in presenting to senior management and groups of employees.Expertise to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Senior Management Team at Monsterful.Self starter with an attention to detail who understands the needs of an early stage tech company with respect to work ethic and collaboration.Possess strong leadership skills, and inspire colleagues to achieve high standards and provide superior services to everyone who interacts and participates with Monsterful.Strong abilities in Ms word, Ms excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools.All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.This job overview in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
