Position Location: Rapid City, SD (not remote based) Job Title : Technical Editor/Coordinator Job Status: Full-time with Benefits Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: DOE Job Summary : Do you have a passion for editing and writing? Are you a Teacher, Paralegal or other professional writer/editor looking to do something new? We have a job for you! The Technical Writer will prepare proposals and grants by determining concept; gathering and formatting information; writing drafts; obtaining approvals; proposal tracking and submission; and managing proposal pipeline. Requirements : Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval and transmitting proposals; Entering, monitoring and tracking proposal pipeline; Coordinating and contributing proposal status information at all proposal meetings; Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals as identified individually or by the team. Develops proposals by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing. Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases. Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key project managers. Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Work with project team members to create capability profiles, proposal resumes, charts and graphs as needed; Maintain and provide new content for PSI social media and website; Prepare and submit news articles to various media outlets to increase awareness of PSI; Assist with marketing materials and presentation materials content and coordinating efforts with employee or subcontracted graphic artist; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : Excellent project management skills with a high attention to detail and strong proofreading skills Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently and as a team member Enthusiasm for expanding knowledge and skills to meet the needs of a dynamic technology office Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with stress on articulating and writing Computer literacy proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat with the ability to grasp other software applications required to perform job duties High ethical standards, positive attitude and sense of humor. Required Education, Knowledge and Skills: BA/BS in Technical Writing, Marketing, Communications or related fields in progress or completed. A minimum of two years of experience in technical writing. Understanding of government procurement terms is preferred but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed. Strong technical skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Gmail. Highly motivated and capable of seeing projects through from beginning to end. This is not a remote position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M.. to 5 P.M.. Position operates during regular business hours.
