Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. has an exciting opening for a Technical Documentation Specialist to become part of a high-performing team in beautiful Saint Inigoes, Maryland! In this role, you will directly support the Combat Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) through researching, drafting, and creating Quality Assurance (QA) workbook documentation in support of the U.S. Navy's Fleet Modernization Program for both the AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system and standalone IFF systems in accordance with the requirements defined in NAVSEA instruction TS9090-310H.The Role:Reading and interpreting a Ship Change Document to identify tasks and requirements to accomplish a ship alteration.Reading and interpreting Ship Installation Drawings and Field Change Instructions for a wide variety of alterations performed on Destroyers, Cruisers, Littoral Combat Ships, Carriers, and plenty of others.Determining which Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items have governance over a particular ship alteration.Leveraging Alteration Installation Team knowledge and experience to prepare each Test and Inspection Plan with applicable attachments.Creating the Alteration Installation Team Manager's Quality Assurance Program (AMQAP) Quality Oversight Schedule and Surveillance Plan for each ship alteration.Reviewing NAVSEA, Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO), and location specific safety requirements and creating comprehensive Safety Plans for each installation.Receiving and applying training received regarding the Navy's Fleet Modernization Program to inform continuous improvement efforts and kick start professional growth.What We Offer:Competitive industry wagesA clear mission that directly supports the fleet, engaging and purpose-driven tasking, and hands-on training with senior members of our team to help you.Face-to-face career mentoring with an astonishing amount of free online training and courses.Recognition program to receive monetary or non-monetary awards.Health, Dental, and Vision insurance with Health Savings Account.401(k) savings plan with company match.Disability, life and accident insurance.Employee assistance program, a legal plan, and discounts on things like home, auto, and pet insurance.Paid time off, paid holidays, paid parental, military, and bereavement leave.Tuition reimbursement benefits for qualifying undergraduate and graduate degree pursuits.Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School Diploma with 7 years of experience OR Associate Degree with 5 years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experienceAt least 2 year of experience must be with the Department of the Navy in any capacityAbility to read and interpret NAVSEA ship installation drawings with or without trainingSelf-starter with ability to learn large amounts of information quicklyIntermediate skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe AcrobatPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with RMMCO Alteration Installation Team check-in or checkoutKnowledge of NAVSEA Standard ItemsExperience building a QA workbook per NAVSEA Technical Specification TS9090-310HTechnical writing experienceExcellent personal, organization and documentation management skills with an editor's eye for detailsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $64130 - $109010Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
