Team Lead - O365 Messaging and Email Security
Job details:This role is for an experienced Microsoft email engineer, with thorough knowledge around Office 365 Email (Exchange On-line) and related services. The individual will function as a Deputy Product Owner for the following main areas. Office 365 Email (Exchange On-line) and Email Interoperability/Integration (internal applications, third-party vendors, global hybrid email infrastructures, and integration with multiple email systems). The role is part of a global O365 Messaging engineering team in a large, complex and multinational environment.Required functions of the Job:Core Exchange messaging work (mainly focused on O365/On-premises Exchange integration with a globally distributed hybrid email solution, email migrations from on-premises to the O365 cloud, and integration between Exchange On-line and other email systems and applications)Functioning as a leader for the O365 messaging space (including understanding and participating in technical projects, taking on assigned technical tasks, creating and managing technical documentation, providing guidance to customers as needed, and other project related tasks within the Exchange and O365 space)Providing input and recommendations on areas of service improvement both from a technical point of view, but also from a process perspective.Responsible for certain technical and non-technical deliverables within assigned projects and areas of responsibility, including collaboration with solution architects, engineers, operational staff and project managersReporting and KPI statistics gathering to complement service ownershipAnalytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: Proactively anticipates service issues before they occur and able to make recommendations around resolution.Taking part in projects as a subject matter expert or as a representative of the service owner.Sound analytical and analytical skills are required to manage multiple technical challenges from multiple services and projects simultaneouslyEvaluate recommendations provided for service improvements, with the expertise to identify any gaps or alternate solutions.Proactively anticipate service issues before they occur and be able to drive suggested changes to execution.Knowledge and Skills Qualifications:Essential Background with Microsoft Exchange Server and O365 email (Exchange On-line) in large, geographically distributed enterprise environmentsWindows and Exchange PowerShell scripting skillsStrong documentation and troubleshooting skills.Good communication and presentation skillsBeneficialExperience with Identity and Active Directory as it relates to messaging (user objects, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, contacts)Background with Microsoft Azure (especially as it relates to Identity and Access Management)Overall understanding of AD User life-cycle managementExperience with Outlook Client and OWATechnical project management skillsGood soft skills.Supervision Responsibilities:No direct supervision responsibilities for this role, but needs to have the expertise to set up a network of technical and non-technical contacts across various teams to help provide appropriate support for existing services, as well as helping to drive delivery of solutions and/or resolution of various problems.Other Qualifications:Applicant must be flexible to the demands of the services we provide and any project to which they are assigned.The role may require out of office hours work.
