In addition to tax responsibilities, this role will also support the accounting department by maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and performing account reconciliations. The position will involve preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly closings, conducting account analysis, and supporting the Controller in various accounting duties. Responsibilities Sales and Use Tax Filing for 10+ states Reconcile and post daily/monthly cash transactions Prepare revenue recognition entries for the Construction Division Prepare and input journal entries into the general ledger Responsible for fixed asset accounting General ledger account analysis and reconciliations Review project costs and provide analysis to ensure proper cost allocation Develop improvement processes within assigned duties Divisional accounting duties, as assigned Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field. 2+ years tax related experience, preferred Corporate Accounting experience, preferred Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) Skills Resourceful, problem-solver, able to prioritize and multitask Detail oriented and organized Able to communicate effectively with great people skills & a sense of humor Team player with a positive attitude Self-motivated and work independently with minimum supervision Unshakeable integrity MEIs 50+ years in the elevator industry gives us an unparalleled ability to handle both custom and standard elevator projects with ease.
