Job qualifications: In support of the to the NUWCDIVNPT Code 70 Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department, provide systems engineering support in the areas of: Engineering studies and analyses to develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). Studies/analyses shall include software fault analysis, hardware fault isolation, life-cycle support plans and analysis, engineering performance assessments, technical tradeoff studies, financial studies, operational studies, cost trade-off analyses, data collection as required for the Government's submissions when applying for environmental permits; Engineering studies of existing designs for in-water, on-shore or shipboard systems, subsystems and individual components to investigate and prepare detailed proposals for the repair of failed components, upgrading of obsolete equipment, improvements to performance, modernization of design, replacement by overlaying, bathymetric data collection for planning cable routes, and expansion of capabilities to meet emerging Fleet needs; Engineering studies identifying suitable replacements for the obsolete items or the detailed design of a replacement for the obsolete item; Reviewing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) and Test Problem Reports and making recommendations based upon the review concerning technical adequacy, program relevancy, and impact to related program activities; Update specifications to accurately reflect ECP/ECI changes; Document results, deliver reports and give presentations.
