Description:
Under the general supervision of the Technology Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for providing essential technical support for computer hardware and software applications for DWIHN employees and departments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with engineering and other management teams to accept direction including:o Coordinating and consulting with vendors for various serviceso Accessing end clients needs for hardware, software, services, and support. o Implementing processes, systems, tools, and applications.o Working in a team to complete various IT related projects in a timely manner.o Performing related duties as assigned Provides escalation (L2) support to other internal groups / departments such as ITSD as needed. This will include advanced trouble shooting, investigation of technical issues and development of solutions that can be implemented directly or delivered to other departments for implementation. Installs, configures, and documents hardware and software for end user services. Manages multi-functional printers (MFPs) for network printing, faxing, and scanning. Manages update / patching processes including:o Firmware Updateso Software updateo Operating system updateso Desktop updateso Network appliance updateso Firewall updates Manages and administers Active Directory for both on-premises and Azure AD accounts. Monitors systems readiness status including:o Anticipating potential problems and takes action to solve them before impacting users.o Monitoring network alarms / server alarmso Managing network switch bandwidth / utilizationo Managing virtualization environment statuso Managing site to site connectivity / statuso Managing wireless connectivity / statuso Performing trend analysiso Overseeing access Controls.o Providing audit support (reports, statistics, data). Manages Inventory including:o New and existing hardware inventory managemento New and existing software inventory managemento License Managemento Providing Software Versioning and Controlo Assisting in managing hardware warranties and software licensingo Testing software and reviewing application logs Manages and develops processes including:o Documenting configurations / processes and controlso Developing processes & documentation for training of other departments o Developing daily / routine functions.o Contributing to internal knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals, and IT Process training materials.o Assisting with the new hire onboarding, packages, processes, and documentationo Decommissioning packages and processeso Performing Hardware stagingo Performing Operating system Imagingo Performing Application Supporto Performing Application Configurationo Overseeing Account remediation (offboarding).o Developing documentation as neededo Developing and implementing Process and Procedures/Runbooks/Documentation. Provides Data Protection (Backups) which includes:o Ensuring the integrity of data storage and backup systemso Configurationo Remediation Manages Security including:o Working with the direction from the Senior Solutions Architect / HIPPA security officer to perform Incident detection / manage response / remediation and perform the following functions:&* Monitoring security processes including network vulnerability scanning, EDR and MDR systems.&* Managing highly Privileged Accounts (HPA).&* Managing physical access&* Managing and maintaining building security and surveillance systems. &* Managing Email & Phishing&* Managing Cloud/Azure&* Managing VPN, maintaining and supporting remote connectivity for approved remote workers. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with IT related hardware. Experience with IT related software applications. Experience with Cisco / Meraki networks in a multi-campus environment Experience with Windows servers in a multi-campus environment Experience with Disaster Recovery process for a multi-campus installation. Experience with Information security. Experience with Office 365. Experience with Cloud Applications. Experience with Cloud based phone systems. Experience with Cloud automated printing. Time / organization management skills. Interpersonal skills. Critical thinking skills and Judgement/Reasoning ability. Teamwork skills. Decision Making skills. Training and Mentoring skills. EDUCATION: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field. Desired Certifications:- CCNE- MSCE- CompTIA server- Nutanix / VMware certified Experience listed below may be substituted on a year for year basis for required education. EXPERIENCE: At least four (4) years of experience in the following areas: Experience with multi-campus networking environment Experience monitoring security solutions including EDR & MDR systems. Network experience including:o Microsoft Networkingo Active directoryo Meraki hardwareo Cisco hardware Virtualization experience includingo Nutanix / VMware Hardware experience including: o hardware configurationo Internet/intranet configurationso Email systemso Telecommunications and data communicationso Hardware inventory management Software experience including:o Computer operating systemso Software deploymento Software patchingo Software inventory management Help Desk Experience Working Conditions: Work requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. Employees must have transportation available to travel to and from offices and for required offsite projects and site visits. This is a hybrid position supporting a mix of onsite and remote functions.
